Student Innovators

This school team is working on an organic bio-fertiliser

Creating this bio-fertiliser would reduce expenditure of farmer on fertilisers.

This team of young innovators from DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL , RAIPUR are one of the winners of the Atal Tinkering labs (ATL) Marathon 2020.

NAMES OF TEAM MEMBERS – ANUSHK SINGH AND AAYUSH SINGH

INNOVATION SUMMARY :
The horticulture farm nearby had many plants which often produced fruits that were small-sized and had curled leaves . The farm owner supplied the soil with commercial fertilisers but it had adverse effect of plant as well as the animals which ate it . This problem encouraged me to find a
viable alternative to harmful chemical fertilisers.

The ingredients used in making of fertiliser are rich in many nutrients needed for plant’s growth like Amaltas , Neem and Sheesham are rich in Nitrogen. Cabbage Leaves , Apple Juice and Banana Leaves have potassium in them. Chickpea (Chana) leaves contains phosphorus .

When the above mentioned ingridients are ground well then , we get all their nutrients in one single solution . When this solution is added to soil , plants get required nutrients.

This harmless organic bio-fertiliser has increased growth rate in plants besides it has also increased the quality and size of fruits. It doesn’t even leave residue on leaves and it stops biological magnification.

Impact on the society :

(i) Creating this bio-fertiliser would reduce expenditure of farmer on fertiliser.
(ii) Fertiliser can be made on site.
(iii) It would contribute efficiently towards reduction of soil and water pollution and it also reduces the risk of bio-magnification.
