Samsung Climate & Circularity Tech Challenge launched

Chosen entries may have the opportunity to be integrated into Samsung’s wide range of products and manufacturing processes.

Samsung Electronics has joined forces with Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC), the world’s largest startup competition supporting entrepreneurs tackling global challenges, to launch the Samsung Climate & Circularity Tech Challenge.

This initiative stems from Samsung’s New Environmental Strategy unveiled in September 2022, where the company has been actively collaborating with startups to invest in and nurture innovative technologies aimed at benefiting the planet.

To strengthen these endeavors, Samsung and XTC are proud to present the Samsung Climate & Circularity Tech Challenge, a competition focused on circular economy and climate change solutions.

The primary goal is to identify groundbreaking ideas that align with the values of Samsung’s New Environmental Strategy.

The competition calls upon participants to submit their concepts addressing resource circularity, encompassing processing, sorting, and extraction phases, as well as innovations related to climate change.

This includes measuring and managing carbon emissions, along with reducing and offsetting carbon footprints. Chosen entries may have the opportunity to be integrated into Samsung’s wide range of products and manufacturing processes.

Tech-for-good founders and innovators are invited to take part in the Samsung Climate & Circularity Tech Challenge. Apart from the chance to witness their ideas shaping the future of home electronics, successful participants will gain global exposure and potential access to investment and corporate partnerships. Winning entries will also secure a place in Samsung’s exhibition at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, U.S.

Interested individuals can apply until the deadline on July 31, 2023. Finalists will be revealed on August 28, leading to a live final event on September 18, where the most promising solutions will be celebrated.
