The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in partnership with the Massive Earth Foundation (MEF) launched LowCarbon. Earth (LCE) 2023, a climate technology accelerator focused on startups solving climate change and pollution.
The accelerator is looking for founders who are ready to tackle the climate crisis and reduce pollution with their innovative ideas and solutions, the companies said in a joint press release.
The program provides access to resources not available to start-up entrepreneurs, including internal expertise, strategic relationships, financial resources and mentorship.
It provides an opportunity for new startups to network with existing companies working on climate change initiatives. It focuses on building an ecosystem for early-stage startups to understand climate technology markets and trends, as well as major investment and growth opportunities.
The purpose of the program is to find out the needs and requirements of companies to create a strong hold on the market. LowCarbon.Earth operates on a hybrid model where the first three months of sessions are hands-on, culminating in a final in-person boot camp to be held at COP28 in the United Arab Emirates.
Selected startups will receive training and mentoring from industry experts, access to funding and networking through a three-month virtual accelerator program.
It also includes six rigorous sessions that provide startups with valuable insights and practical guidance.
