SustainCERT to launch world’s first climate impact verification platform

SustainCERT has been dedicated to fostering credibility in climate impact claims.

Luxembourg: SustainCERT SA, a leading global provider of climate impact verification services, has recently concluded its largest capital raise, securing $37 million to fuel its expansion on a global scale.

This year, SustainCERT is set to launch the world’s first platform for climate impact verification. This innovative platform aims to enhance the credibility of companies’ climate impact claims. The Series B funding will be instrumental in scaling SustainCERT’s recently introduced solution for measuring the decarbonization impact across value chains, specifically addressing Scope 3 emissions. Additionally, the company will soon unveil a digital verification solution tailored for carbon markets.

Since 2018, SustainCERT has been dedicated to fostering credibility in climate impact claims through its distinctive offering of independent impact verification. By combining climate expertise with cutting-edge digital solutions, the company has established itself as a key player in the field.

Marion Verles, CEO of SustainCERT, expressed enthusiasm about the funding and its implications for the company’s fight against climate change. Verles stated that the investment, the largest to date, will empower SustainCERT to further enhance the speed and accuracy of climate impact verification. She highlighted the exciting growth opportunities ahead and emphasized the scaling of their innovative climate impact verification solution for carbon markets and Scope 3 emissions.

To limit global warming to 1.5°C and achieve Net Zero by 2050, a 45% reduction in emissions is necessary by 2030. This transition calls for significant scaling of market and policy mechanisms that incentivize decarbonization. It is crucial to establish effective carbon markets and take action to reduce Scope 3 emissions, which constitute a substantial portion of companies’ emissions. Greater transparency and integrity are essential for the success of carbon markets, and as regulations around Scope 3 emissions reporting continue to grow, independent verification will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and trustworthiness of climate impact claims. Verification is a requirement for all reputable carbon standards, and digital innovations are emerging as key drivers for scaling carbon markets with integrity.

By verifying against globally recognized standards, SustainCERT’s solutions will accelerate the speed, accuracy, and quality of data measurement used for carbon credits and assessing the impacts of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG).
