The 15th ITU Kaleidoscope Academic Conference, themed “Innovation and Digital Transformation for a Sustainable World,” recently took place in New Delhi, marking a pivotal moment in global telecommunications research and standards development.
Organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the event was held from October 21 to 23, 2024, and gathered top experts from academia, industry, and government to explore groundbreaking advancements in 5G, AI, IoT, quantum communications, and other emerging technologies.
Kaleidoscope 2024 serves as a premier platform for fostering collaboration and driving innovation in digital transformation and telecommunications. This year’s conference saw a record-breaking number of paper submissions, reflecting the increasing global interest in shaping the future of telecommunications infrastructure and standards. Over 140 papers were submitted, highlighting research that addresses global challenges such as sustainability, digital inclusion, and security.
Key Highlights of Kaleidoscope 2024:
The top three selected papers will receive a cash prize of CHF 2000, honoring the most innovative and impactful research in telecommunications. These papers, chosen by a distinguished international panel, explore key advancements in areas like quantum communication, network security, and 5G technologies.
Young Authors Recognized
In a bid to support emerging researchers, ITU will also award certificates of excellence to young authors of selected papers. This initiative reflects ITU’s dedication to fostering new talent and supporting research that contributes to global digital transformation.
Three Days of Thought Leadership
The conference will feature a range of technical sessions and panel discussions covering topics such as 6G network architectures, AI’s role in healthcare, IoT for smart cities, and quantum cryptography.
