Bengaluru: The Bengaluru city administration has launched DiGi7, a system that provides a seven-digit unique identification to properties across the city.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has already assigned unique IDs to around 19 lakh properties, spread over 800 sq.km. This number will be the permanent identifier for its location, be it property type, owner, ward boundary, etc.
Citizens will be able to use DiGi7 to identify properties, get directions and navigate to an address. At a later stage, citizens can use DiGi7 for service requests from the BBMP, such as grievance reporting, utility servicing or applying for building plans.
Citizens can download the app from Google Playstore or Apple Store (for iPhone users). They can get their DiGi7 numbers either by calling the BBMP call center, or by sending an SMS. It is also available on the BBMP website.
